Review of the legal guidelines for administration of medication in child care, purpose of medication, categories of medication, routes of medication administration, administration and storage of medication (including emergency medications), authorization and documentation required for administering medications in child care, required Special Needs Health Care Plans, and developing medication administration policies. The course includes real life scenarios for giving medication in the child care setting that require application of the knowledge areas named above.
