ChildCareTraining.org is the home of Montana’s early childhood distance learning. Early childhood professionals have a vitally important job; we strive to offer accessible professional development statewide. We can help you save time and money associated with traveling to workshops. And you can complete your training in the comfort of your own home 24-7.
Here you’ll find a catalog of courses in all knowledge base domains, courses required of all new early childhood professionals by Child Care Licensing, and courses that are part of Montana’s STARS to Quality system.
ChildCareTraining.org is a project of Child Care Resources, Inc., a Child Care Resource and Referral agency, and a Child and Adult Care Food Program sponsor. Child Care Resources has been around for over 50 years, striving to support early childhood professionals and families with young children.
Child Care Resources recognized the need for more convenient training opportunities for early childhood professionals, so we launched this site in 2009.
We believe our courses supply training of the highest caliber. All materials are authored by professionals in their field; see our Course Authors page for more information. Each course is also facilitated by an instructor who provides individualized feedback to every participant. Please ask questions about the course content or contact us if you need technical support. We believe this interaction is vital in the learning process, as all course topics require some objective reflection and students gain valuable knowledge from a professional’s feedback.
Our staff is comprised of many diversely skilled individuals. We contract with experts in their field for the development of new courses. All courses are facilitated by a professional who is educated or an expert on the topic.
Child Care Resources serves as the centralized online learning agency for the state of Montana. Courses specific to Montana's Best Beginnings STARS to Quality program are offered on ChildCareTraining.org. These courses have been developed by the Montana Early Childhood Services Bureau.
Course Development Guidelines
Online courses require specific manuscript preparation and formatting to successfully translate to an internet environment. Based on online education research and Child Care Resources' experience developing and teaching distance learning courses, and the standards set by the Montana Early Childhood Project, the following guidelines for course development have been established.
