The environmental supports at these level are beneficial for all children. In this module, we will examine the physical environment, schedules and routines, expectations and rules, transitions, and how to support engagement to reduce challenging behavior. We will explore skills in the major social-emotional learning areas of friendship skills, emotional literacy, self-regulation, and problem-solving. We will discuss ways to teach throughout the day in large group, small group, and all other routines. We will also review modeling, setting up opportunities to practice with a variety of materials and activities, as well as encouragement and specific positive feedback.
