    This course is a basic overview of health and safety standards and practices in child care programs. Topics addressed include:

    • Prevention of SIDS and safe sleep practices
    • Prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma
    • Infectious Disease Prevention and Control
    • Administration of medication and parental consent
    • Prevention and response to food and allergy emergencies
    • Emergency preparedness and disaster response
    • Building and physical premises safety (including identification and protection from hazards that can cause bodily injury)
    • Handling/storage of hazardous materials and disposal of bio-contaminants
    • Transportation of children
    • First aid and CPR

    Please note this is a very basic training overview in First Aid and CPR and does not imply certification in any way at the completion of this course.
