Summary

Students can work in teams or groups, but are required to complete and submit their own work.

Full policy

ChildCareTraining.org is designed to help early childhood professionals advance their professional development through distance learning opportunities. ChildCareTraining.org reserves the right to refuse a student credit if it is believed that the student did not complete his or her own work. While it is acceptable for students to discuss the course content materials in teams or groups, the quizzes and activities are designed to be completed on an INDIVIDUAL basis, sharing the student's unique thoughts and experiences. The purpose of the course activities is to demonstrate to the instructor that the student understands the material and has applied the concepts to their own professional practice. Even if students are enrolled in the same course and work together at the same child care facility, training experience reveals that each student will have different learning experiences than their peers. ChildCareTraining.org will not give credit if it is clear that the student did not complete the required work individually.

If ChildCareTraining.org believes that a student did not complete the learning activities on their own, or a student submitted similar or identical answers as another student, we will request that the student's activity responses be resubmitted to demonstrate individual learning. In the resubmission, the student must provide new, individualized answers. If the student resubmits satisfactory answers, credit will be awarded for the course.

Child Care Training expects students to monitor their grades. It is not the responsibility of Childcare Training or of the facilitators to notify a student if they didn't pass. Students have access to their grades and all facilitator comments in the grade book. They also have access to their completion certificate once the class is successfully completed.

Summary

Participants have 60 days from the date of registration to complete coursework, make any revisions, and have the class graded by the instructor.

Full policy

Participants have 60 days from the date of registration to complete coursework, have the class graded by the instructor within 3 business day, and resubmit any answers toward a passing grade allowing an additional 3 business days for re-submission grading. In order to avoid being dropped before passing the course, ChildCareTraining.org recommends you complete the class at a minimum of at least two weeks prior to the 60 day drop date. After you are dropped from a course, we can not guarantee your completed coursework will be available.

If a student does not complete a class prior to the expiration of the 60 day enrollment period, we will add the student back in for 14 days with a call or request from the helpdesk (blue question mark in the lower right hand corner). Grades and material completed are not recovered when you re-enroll yourself. We have to recover your grades manually.

For fee based classes, if the student still does not complete the class in that additional fourteen day period, they will be required to pay for the class again.

The exceptions to this policy are synchronous courses, which have specific begin and end dates, and are time-limited.

If you did not successfully complete a course within the initial 60-day enrollment period (or the 14 day re-enrollment enacted by the ChildCareTraining.org helpdesk), there are times when it is not possible to recover grades, certificates and/or coursework. Such possibilities include, but are not limited to, the course has been revised, retired, and/or renewed.

In any of these cases, you would need to begin the class again.

Summary

All course assignments must be completed online. Instructors will not accept faxed, mailed or emailed responses to assignments.

Full policy

All ChildCareTraining.org course materials must be completed online. Students may choose to print the course content materials for ease in reading (see how in the FAQs). However, students must complete the quizzes and activities and submit them online. Instructors will not accept faxed, mailed or emailed responses. If you are having trouble submitting an activity, please look through our Site Tutorial for detailed instructions. Or, you may submit a Trouble Ticket for individualized assistance.

Summary

During your enrollment, courses will be graded by the instructor within three business days of your course submission, excluding holidays.

Full policy

Courses will be graded by the instructor within three business days of your course submission (submission of the last and final activity), excluding holidays. Courses require at least a 70% to pass/receive a certificate of completion. If a student is missing quizzes or activities, or required to resubmit an activity, the three business day window will be reapplied. You must contact the facilitator if you have resubmitted any material. Please see our FAQ page on information in how to resubmit an activity and how to contact a facilitator. It is important for students to complete and submit all course materials at least a week before their 60 day enrollment ends. If a student is dropped, it delays the grading process.

Please check the list to see which days are considered holidays.

  • New Year's Day (Jan. 1)
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • President's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day (July 4th)
  • Labor Day

Summary

Once a student has begun a course, the course registration fee will not be refunded unless certain criteria are met.

Full policy

ChildCareTraining.org incurs technology expenses for each course registrant. Additionally, there are costs associated with refunding credit card payments or writing checks. As this site is operated by a non-profit organization, it is not possible to absorb these expenses. Once a student has begun a course, the course registration fee will not be refunded.

In the case a refund is requested, it must meet the following criteria:

  • The class was not started.
  • The refund must be requested within 30 days of purchase or enrollment.
  • The request for a refund must be made by email or through the helpdesk (blue question mark).

ChildCareTraning.org strongly advises potential students to view the Sample Course to ensure that this is the type of training best suited to her or his learning style and needs.
