How do I know what courses I've already taken on ChildCareTraining.org? Students can view what courses they have successfully completed on their student profile. On the top of your student profile is the SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED COURSES section. If you have not completed any courses on the site, this section will be blank. The SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED COURSES section is updated when the student receives a Certificate of Completion for any course. (Please note that only the courses completed on this new site, which went live in March 2009, will be listed in this section.) To enrol in a course, select the course from the Course Catalog. You will be taken to the course enrolment page. At the bottom of the page, click on the “Send Payment Via PayPal” button. This will take you to the PayPal site, where you can enter your credit card information. Once your payment has been authorized, the PayPal site will give you a like to return to your course. This link will take you to the course’s outline home page, where you can begin! Can I print my course to read it? Yes, if you prefer to read the course content on paper, you may print the course. To do so, you will need to open the Content resource for each Module section and print the material. Print these pages as you would any other webpage, which is typically done by selecting File, Print. Note: Your quizzes and activities CANNOT be completed on paper. You must complete these online. We do not accept email or faxed responses. You MUST complete the course’s quizzes and activities on the website. How long do I have to complete my course? You have 90 days to complete a course from the day you register. You will receive an email notification 15 days before you’re course enrolment expires. After 90 days, you will automatically be unenroled from the course. Do I have to log on and complete the entire course all at once? No, you can log off and on as many times as necessary, as long as you have the course completed and submitted within 90 days of registration. On the activity page, there is a button that says "WRITE YOUR RESPONSE." Click on this button and type your answer in the text box that will be provided. When you are finished, click on the "Save changes" button. You have now completed the activity. At the end of the course, you will complete the Course Evaluation, and after doing so you will click on a "SUBMIT MY COURSE FOR GRADING" button. This will submit your course to the instructor, who will provide individualized feedback to each of your activities. The grade for your activities will not show in the Gradebook until the instructor corrects your course and assigns a grade; unlike the self-grading quizzes where the score fills in upon completion of the quiz. How do I know that my course was submitted for grading? Your course is submitted for grading after completing the Course Evaluation. Once your evaluation has successfully been submitted, you will receive an email confirmation that your course has been submitted for grading. I lost my Certificate of Completion. How can I get a replacement? First, view your Student Profile to see what courses you’ve taken and when you received the training credit and certificate. Then, contact Child Care Resources at cct@childcareresources.org to request a replacement Certificate of Completion, listing the specific course title and the date you completed it. Please also provide your first and last name so we can confirm your completion and send you a duplicate certificate. Unfortunately, Child Care Resources lost all training records from our previous training site when it crashed. Therefore, if you took the course before March 2009, Child Care Resources has no record of your training. If you are a provider in Montana, Child Care Resources would have entered your training completion in the Early Childhood Career Development System Practitioner Registry so a record would be there. For CCR to check that, please email your name and PS# OR the last five digits of your social security number and date of birth. If the record is there, Child Care Resources will send a replacement certificate. How long after I complete my course before it will be graded? Courses will be graded by the instructor within three business days of your submission. Will I get a certificate or other documentation when I successfully complete the course? Yes, an electronic certificate will be sent to your email address upon receiving approval by the course instructor. I have not yet received my Certificate of Completion and I passed my course. What do I do? Please check the junk/spam folder in your inbox, as some of the ChildCareTraining.org messages may have been filtered there. If not, please contact your instructor. I did not pass my course and I need to improve my answers. How do I resubmit an activity? Resubmitting an activity is exactly the same as submitting the activity for the first time. To resubmit an activity, log on to the site and enter the course. Click on the link for the activity that you need to improve upon. The activity will open and you can see your original response and the instructor's feedback. Click on the "WRITE YOUR RESPONSE" button. The submission text box will open; it will still have your original response in it. Type your new answer BELOW your previous answer. The instructor will want to see how you've changed your response. Once you have improved upon your answer, you MUST SEND YOUR INSTRUCTOR A MESSAGE that you have resubmitted your response for grading. The instructor WILL NOT know that you have resubmitted your activity unless you notify them! When a student is required to resubmit an activity, the three business day window for grading reapplies from the day the resubmission is submitted and the instructor is notified by the student with an email. Are these courses approved in my state? Please see our list of Approved States. I don’t see my state listed in the approved states section. Does that mean that I cannot take a course? Child Care Resources seeks approval in many states. If you don’t see your state listed, contact your local licensing agency and request approval. I live in Montana. Will my course be submitted to the Early Childhood Project? Yes, after you successfully complete a course, and have been passed by the instructor, your training hours will be submitted to the ECP within three business days. Will the nutrition courses count toward required CACFP training? CACFP Sponsors decide what training meets the standards set in each state. So, check with your state’s CACFP Sponsor. In Montana, Nutrition and Food Sanitation courses approved by the Early Childhood Project Career Development System are accepted by MT CACFP. It is still prudent to check with your Sponsor. We do not offer courses on CACFP regulations which is a required annual training for homes and centers participating in CACFP, as regulations differ from state to state. Will this course count toward the continuing education requirements for licensing in my state? All courses are approved in Montana. Check our Approved States list to see if your state is included. If not, please contact cct@childcareresources.org and provide your contact information so we can see if it is possible to obtain approval in your state. Does this training carry Continuing Education Units (CEUs)? Unfortunately, ChildCareTraining.org courses do not carry CEUs. Will this training count toward my Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate? There are no continuing education requirements for NAEYC accreditation. However, there are higher education requirements. Also, if you are working on your CDA, ChildCareTraining.org courses may count as part of your training requirements.
